Crafting Curation-Tulipsome Creation
Commencing in 2015, the seeds of 'Tulipsome Creation' were sown as a result of extensive exploration and comprehensive training in the traditional textile hand-weaving, Tribal arts, and cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh. Founded by Ajit Kumar, a Textile Designer from NIFT-Kannur, this initiative emerged after eight years of dedicated collaboration with handloom clusters and the Rural Development Dept., Govt. of Chhattisgarh. His tireless efforts aimed at empowering local artisans, creating a dependable marketplace for them, and amplifying their unique arts and cultural traditions. Presently, Tulipsome Creation endeavors to rekindle forgotten local art forms and cultural legacies, seamlessly blending them into contemporary designs. The initiative also extends its support to local handicraft artists, transcending the realm of handloom artisans. Currently, they are partnering with 3 cotton handloom clusters (encompassing 200+ weavers) and Kosa Silk handloom clusters (with 50+ artisans), fostering sustainable livelihoods and preserving indigenous heritage.
