Kriti Sustainable Livelihoods
KritiKala is a part of Kriti Social Initiatives, a not for profit organization committed to women’s empowerment and education of children. It works in the slums of Hyderabad and one of the major initiatives has been in skill training in the areas of tailoring, hand embroidery and making of paper bag to unskilled women. Products made by Kritikala are sustainable and eco-friendly made out of fabric waste. The organisation is also committed to supporting artisans involved in the handloom and handcrafted textiles sector and use local textiles such as Kalamkari, Mangalagiri and Ikat. Each product is hand-made and provides a fair source of livelihood to the artisan who worked on it.
