Description :
Pink and black colour handwoven sambalpuri Patli cotton ikat saree from the weavers of Sambalpur, Odisha. The pattern for this saree evolves through a process of dyeing the warp and weft threads prior to inter-weaving. This technique of ikat weaving on a traditional handloom is a beautiful art of poetry on the loom. The patli pallu saree is designed with different patterns for the body and similar patterns for the saree pleats and pallu. This saree is woven with abstract flower design at the middle part of the body and geometric diamond designs woven as broad stripes near the borders. Rudraksha dobby motifs are woven on the border of the saree. The diamond designs on the pallu and the pleats add to the beauty of this handloom saree.
