Description :
Lime green and maroon colour handwoven sambalpuri cotton ikat saree from the weavers of Sambalpur, Odisha. The pattern for this saree evolves through a process of dyeing the warp and weft threads prior to inter-weaving. This technique of ikat weaving on a traditional handloom is a beautiful art of poetry on the loom. This saree is woven with rudraksha motif by single ikat technique and small square boxes all over the body. Rudraksha dobby motifs are woven on the border of the saree. The geometrical motifs on the pallu in lavender and mustard on a maroon base add to the beauty of this handloom saree.
