Description :
Amber yellow and maroon handwoven sambalpuri cotton ikat saree from the weavers of Sambalpur, Odisha. The pattern on the saree evolves through a process of dyeing the warp and weft threads prior to inter-weaving. This technique of ikat weaving on a traditional handloom is a beautiful art of poetry on the loom. This saree has stripes of small flower designs along with traditional wheel motifs woven on the yellow-maroon body with rudraksha dobby border. The floral ikat motifs in maroon, on the pallu add on to the beauty of this handloom saree.
