Description :

Grey Hubli saree from the weavers at the handwoven hub of Gajendragarh, Karnataka. The age old hubli saree has been revived with special features like the reversible nature having two different pallus on either side and easy drape borders rendering it to be ready to wear. All features are designed for and skillfully woven on a handloom. The traditional gadi-dadi border stripes were inspired by flowers and add beautiful detailing to the simplicity of this saree. This particular saree is designed with a plain body interwoven with off white cotton yarn on the warp and grey yarn on the weft giving a nice dhoop chaav effect (double shade). Contrast borders and thin stripe pallu are designed at the saree ends. Flaunt this saree with a contrast printed blouse for an incredible attire. Punarjeevana, which translates as rebirth, is a revival initiative of the age old Patteda Anchu and North Karnataka sarees by Dr. Hemalatha Jain. A designer and researcher, Dr. Hemalatha has done extensive work to develop the lost art of North Karnataka sarees and strives to keep the traditions of hand-weaving alive.
