Description:
Ochre and maroon handwoven sambalpuri cotton ikat saree from the weavers of Sambalpur, Odisha. The pattern for this saree evolves through a process of dyeing the warp and weft threads prior to inter-weaving. This technique of ikat weaving on a traditional handloom is a beautiful art of "poetry on the loom". This saree is woven with three colour wavy design warp wise and flower designs woven at both borders. Rudraksha dobby motifs are woven on the border of the saree. The arrow head design on the pallu add to the beauty of this handloom saree. The saree comes with matching blouse piece.
